English Musical 2022
We take pleasure in announcing the performance of Cyrano de Bergerac in August 2022 at the Shatin Pui Ying College Auditorium.
The show is a collaborative effort of our students and teachers which showcases abundant gifts of language, music, dance, creativity and leadership. The script is adapted by students, and the songs are composed by students, alumni and teachers. Costume-making comes under the able craftsmanship of parents. After months of hard work, it is now show time.
自1999-2001年起，沙田培英中學每兩年均公演一齣英語音樂劇，至今已公演十齣，並將於今年八月三日至四日(星期三至四) 假沙田培英中學禮堂公演第十一齣英語音樂劇 Cyrano de Bergerac，藉此推廣藝術教育，優化英語學習環境。
此音樂劇改編自同名法國舞台劇。Cyrano de Bergerac表面上是一個浪漫淒美的愛情劇本；實際上，更是一個展示人性美好與光輝的故事。雖然Cyrano有一個大鼻子，其貌不揚，但他劍術超群、才華橫溢，更擇善固執，甘願為所愛的人，義無反顧地成人之美。
一如以往，此音樂劇由本校師生共同策劃，並有以下特色﹕
- 劇本由學生親自執筆改編
- 歌曲由學生，校友及老師編寫
- 舞台設計、佈景製作均由師生合力製作
- 家長參與縫製戲服
- 備有中文字幕
